  1. Tomorrow, I will submit another cache that will make "Conquer Your Fears" look like 'tupperware in a hollow tree located in a township park"! (Not that there is anything wrong with that) Very evil puzzle though... this cache is a no doubt about it a true 5/5... I am not even sure if the locals are able to find it, looking at the feedback of "Conquer Your Fears".
  2. Why dont you keep your explorist for caching and get a car navigation unit, the garmin Nuvi series is really great, I've used for a year now (the Nuvi 360) and have 0 complaints, and for the the field I use my 60 CSX or Explorist XL. I prefer using the 60CSX...
  3. How 'bout a link to these waterproof labels?
  4. Cache is published! CONQUER YOUR FEARS Thanks ODragon!
  5. Absolutely, we need more of those in our area! I just released a 5/5 myself, just waiting for approval. Here in suburbia I am getting very bored with caches in parks and parking lots and anything interesting thats within a reasonable driving distance I have completed. We need more 5/5! or at least terrains of 3 and higher! Bring them on! I will be releasing more of them too!
  6. Sorry cerberus1, just made it a puzzle cache , I think you will know how to solve it though.... and trust me it will be worth it, I just hid all my stages, everything was more difficult than I thought it was going to be I am listing this as a 5/5, I have done a few 5/5 and none of them come close to this one, I am always open to change the rating depending on what kind of feedback I'll get. I'll probably have it published on Sunday or Monday after my tracks are wiped out by the weather. The Lehigh Valley needs more crazy caches!!!!!
  7. I am working on a extreme cache, I will not give away any information on it yet but its going to be dangerous, scary and overall just crazy! Just the way I like my caches and around here we do not have enough of them (Lehigh Valley). I am thinking about making it a mystery cache with a difficult puzzle to solve to get to the first stage, but I also know that a puzzle will turn alot of cachers off. I'd like this cache to be a true 5/5... The hides are not going to be particularly hard to find but just very hard to get to. Anyways, should I make this a multi cache and go for the 3.5-4 star difficulty or attach a puzzle/cipher to it and make it a 5? What would you prefer?
  8. Even tough I carry a cheap $10 compass I never use it, I also carry 2 GPSrs a Garmin 60 csx and Magellan Explorist XL and enough batteries for a week. I find having a second gpsr much more useful than a compass.
  9. Uhmmm looks like you can just unscrew the eye bolt, especially with the lock on there for leverage? Possibly. I know I needed a wrench to take it off. Even if you can just unscrew it, it's not like we're keeping gold in the things. They are cache trinkets. If someone wants to circumvent the puzzle by defeating the lock, it's their loss. As long as they put it back for the next person it doesn't bother me. Good point. Another idea is to use some permanent thread locker or epoxy on the threads if you dont have access to a welder. Cachers have been known to dissemble containers and just leave them like that.

  11. When I first started geocaching (early this year), I was finding green Jeep TBs in every other cache, now I dont think I've seen one in 3 months. Another sad story about TBs disappearing?
  12. Wow you guys are a lot of help--Thank you, I will check all of those out! Now how about Cave and Tunnel caches? Any good ones around? I did "Spooky Tunnel Cache", "Manunka Chunk Tunnels" and "Dark Rock cache" and some other little ones that were not interesting enough to remember. BTW, anyone do "GC12YMW", now that one is crazy! No way its legal! but the fence fell over and I did not see any trespassing signs
  13. Set up a pocket query to return caches within 50 miles and of the desired difficulty. EDIT oops maybe nobody saw this... looking at PQs now , I still would like to hear about peoples personal experiences!
  14. I reported this problem (and solution) a few days ago. It's an issue with Yahoo's new "broadband" mode, where they shamelessly rip off Google Maps. Go back to what they call "dial-up" mode, and it will work (but you'll have to reload the map again to display the right location). The link to toggle between the two is at the top of the map. Yahoo keeps track (cookie, probably) of what mode you're in. If you've never switched over to "broadband", you probably won't see a problem. Thats seems to work, however in dial-up mode you cant view aerial maps! Or am I missing something?
  15. There seems to be something wrong with the "Yahoo! Maps"link on cache pages. When I click on it it takes me to the yahoo map, but its completely zoomed out and by the time I zoom in to street level the coords are way off. It may be just me but it used to work good. I really like the yahoo maps, they are a great alternative to the Google Maps, but now they are useless for me. Anyone have this same problem? I am using firefox 2.0.0.9 on a WinXP machine.
  16. Hello, I am getting a little bored of containers in Parks, I have done quite a few caches which had a high terrain rating that involved climbing and going into abandoned tunnels, etc. I really enjoy those caches the most! I own one myself: Stony Ridge Anyways my question is do you know of any caches that will get your adrenaline pumping because they are challenging and scary? I live in the Allentown area and I am looking for caches within the 40 - 50 Mile range. I am not looking for caches that have crazy puzzles or where you have to hike miles and miles (a few miles is OK) and can be completed within a day. PS: I do not own a boat or climbing equipment... Yea I know now I am asking for alot!
  17. The Pyscho Urban caches are in Frederick, Maryland and a few are in other areas such as New York and Pennsylvania and even in Indiana. These caches are very crazy. And they are in an area that is pretty urban like city streets, malls, etc.. around alot of muggle areas. However Vinny could explain more to you since he owns them Cant seem to find any in PA at least none by Vinny... Am I missing something?
  18. Get the Nuvi you'll be pleased! Best car unit I ever owned and could not be more "idiot proof". Even my boss was able to use it!
  19. Duh! Thanks! Sometimes things are so obvious that you look right past them
  20. Question: I noticed on my cache listing a log today that somebody traded TBs, however I saw and probably missed which TBs were traded, is there an inventory log? I know about the audit log but I cant seem to find anything about inventory log. Thanks in advance, --Dutch
  21. Micro, I have sorta the same concept out there, when there is only room for a log, its a micro...
  22. Today I visited a cache that had cat-food in it that expired in 2003!
