  1. Find the person that took my travel bug from the cache in Parkersburg, and it's yours for the taking (as long as you put it back in a cache eventually.)
  2. Congratulations, MikeDX! Now if I can just figure out a way to get 100 WV finds in one day...
  3. AJ-We actually found over 140 caches (I missed a few when logging--it should be about 145 when I'm done) on that trip. You can easily get 100 in a day. While we were there Leprechaun and carleenp found 242 in 24 hours, and they seem to think with the right team and planning someone should be able to reach 300 someday. I'd say there's a good chance especially since they keep placing more caches there. Don't try this if you don't like log only micros!
  4. We recently found our 500th cache--a FTF for Bluet's Forgotten Cache (and yes we did answer her question) a month ago yesterday, and on the 4th of July we hit #600 at a virtual cache in Nashville (one of two) during a wagon train cache run where we grabbed 100 caches in 11 1/2 hours--then ran off for an incredible fireworks show. Our cache count is now at 665 and I don't expect it to stay there very long... On to Eli... her cache count may say 441, but I'm sure she found a good number more caches than us on this trip since she arrived several hours before us and was kidnapped by some other cachers the first night. We know she passed 500 and if she found 18 more caches than us, she reached 600 as well. I know she found a lot that first night, but some were repeated during the cache run. I'm sure she's happy like us to be back home in WV to find a few more ammo boxes in the woods!

I usually log the same as avroair, except for the last example where it really depends on the day/cache. I almost never start going for a cache that I don't log. Of course, I've heard complaints about logging too much...
  6. Ok. I wanna go TMPs route. Anything requiring special equipment for me would also require an ambulance nearby... No... I don't know anyone with a hellicopter, but one sure sounded like it was going to land on the front lawn at my work today!
  7. I'll have to read TMP's log again. I know that's the way I'd want to go. Did he need any special equipment with that route? I like MikeDX's idea of getting all the WV caches that were around when I started... Let's see... there were nine when I started. I still need to find two of those (the two oldest.) Oh, did he mean when WVDan started? Oh, that's different then. WVDan--think that helicopter could carry us both there?
  8. Cache Mission HQ here. Seems the enemy complexes close at 10 p.m. You can insert at night but we will disavow and knowledge of your missions if you get caught. Any mission can be completed in the dark, just remember to apply your camo paint and bring a light emitting device. CMHQ out. Ah... this we learned in the couple hours of my life spent in NJ. We were undetected, but our car wasn't as stealthy. It didn't even know it was in a park! You guys sure have expensive tickets there!
  9. I saw this topic yesterday, but I figured it couldn't be someone from WV--MikeDX didn't start the topic! Oh... it's his biggest competition. Now I understand! Congratulations, WVDan! I definately agree with Leprechaun... caching here is very different than many areas. For those that don't know what kind of numbers he's talking about, there are now 384 caches within 100 miles of my home coordinates (including those I own and found.) To me this looks like a pretty big number since it's been growing 'quickly' this year. I cheat--most of my finds are from out of state. WVDan has the goal of finding the most WV caches (or is that ALL WV caches?) So... 300 by next Thursday?
  10. mtn-man: We both got a reply from Keystone recently. The WV shipment is going to the OH/KY/WV group. I'm hoping a good number of those make it to WV. I haven't heard anything about their plans, but I will contact them to see if we can help with distribution here. Either way, we've been going to OH and KY a lot for caching lately--we can bring them into WV one Jeep at a time if we have to.
  11. So does Yellow Jeep get to log FLITS as a find or will it be a note considering the outcome?
  12. Ok, I should have asked this earlier... Since there are no organizations yet for West Virginia, are some headed here? There is the Tri-State group, but I imagine many bugs sent there would end up in Ohio and Kentucky.
  13. Mikedx-- This should give you guys a more accurate count of caches found in WV since you don't tend to find locationless caches in the state where they're listed. You'll just have to add 100,000 and Metamorphosed buildings to your WV count if you want these to be considered WV finds. Other than that, you might figure out which locationless caches you found within WV (I'm guessing all or at least most of the ones you found were actually in WV) and add those numbers to your WV count. This could really make the WV race interesting.
  14. I'm hoping to blow past 500 this weekend in Ohio. If that happens, it'll probably be a virtual or some other 1-1. Of course if we don't hit 500 there, it'll probably involve climbing a mountain somewhere in WV.
  15. Hmm... I just realized Eli's missing something. Maybe we should all pitch in and get her an avatar for the forums. stayfloopy too...
  16. Ah, I see MikeDX is thinking along the same line I was. I was also thinking a cache of the month would be great. I like the idea of linking to the WV State Parks page sound great--it might even encourage me to finally legalize my caches (ok, I'll do that as soon as I'm done with this post.) I was thinking with the cache of the month it'd be nice to also have an out-of-state cache mentioned as well. But then last I checked most of our finds were out of state so that might be why I'd want that. I'll bring something to the event where people can write down ideas for the site. I can see I'll have fun with this one already!
  17. I'm at the 20 limit, but I've only been running a few the last week or two so saving them isn't a problem.
  18. I'm sure I'll end up deleting these as well. So... should I just delete them or should I keep them in case they can help find out what causes this trouble? I ran both queries today to see what would happen. Both sent me an email with their name saying they returned no caches. The emails didn't include the PQ number.
  19. Jeremy (or someone else that might know,) Any idea what causes this trouble? Maybe there's something I can do to keep this from happening in the future. The two PQs that are having trouble for me have Bad PQ in the name. I'm going to run them tomorrow (Friday) to see if I can find out what PQ numbers they are. I'm hoping if I run them without viewing them on the site might get them to work. Not that I think this is likely... If they still have trouble and I find out the PQ #s, I'll post them here.
  20. Nice ideas, WVDan. We could always name the memorial page the dx page. Much more fun remembering those that are still alive--even after trying to cross rivers, etc. I like the idea of keeping track of WV finds, but I don't know how to make a page like that without spidering gc.com which I would think would annoy Jeremy. If anyone has a good way to pull this off, I'd love to add it to the site. Maybe we can just do a manual count in forums. I know--it's not as nice as the old stats page. TeamK-9: We're starting to get more caches in WV. They're showing up a lot faster this year than they have in the past. I saw there was at least one new cache in Wheeling lately. I've only been through Wheeling a few times so I don't know too much about caching in that area. At least there's Ohio and Pennsylvania caches that can be reached from there. Thanks Miss Jenn for the info on negeocaching.com and also thanks instep guy for your support!
  21. I'd like to make a website for caching/cachers (both) in West Virginia. I can set up forums, etc on my site. I'd like to know what people think of the idea of having a site for WV. If you like the idea, I'd like to know what you would want to see on the site. I'm just starting with the idea, so anything goes... Site name/Logo/Features/Forum topics/etc. Plus... maybe if we're quick enough we could place some Yellow Jeep bugs.
  22. Congratulations Eli! It was nice to be with you on #400... Sorry I was the one to find it--I didn't realize it was #400 at the time. Not that that would have stopped us from trying...
  23. I like those ideas. They would sure help speed up logging. I'm not sure how I'd handle the virts and locationless, but I do like the idea of helping to take care of the needed proof of the find. I think the part I quoted would make the biggest difference in speeding things up when logging a bunch of caches at once. Another side advantage is that it would probably help the site a little by cutting down on unnecessary page views.
