Here in So Cal there are many many many snakes... Especially where I live on the edge of the Saddleback Mountain Range... Generally when I find rattlers, I pick them up carefully, inspect them for ticks. If I find a tick, I will usually remove it, and chuck it in my mouth. (Great protein.) Otherwise, after giving them a pretty thorough health inspection, I will let them go. So, no worries here. Snakes are great !

I must say, I don't try to spend much on making a cache as I expect anything of value to disappear.

Ummmm.... Eeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww ! I suppose we don't have to worry about a blockbuster there...

I believe in listing the dangers as a courtesy if nothing else. One of my caches... I know that I appreciate knowing in advance what I might be running up against. I don't care if I am alone but when my 5 year old comes along, I would rather avoid vertical climbs, or frightening terrain... But I concur with what was said earlier. There are no laws against Mountain Climbing or Kayaking, or whatever... There are certain risks associated with sports. There will always be frivolous lawsuits, however we shouldn't worry ourselves sick over it. If anything, we should appreciate what Groundspeak has done. After all, it's still free. (I haven't paid a dime yet.)

I generally will pick up the GPS and hold it to my ear, and pretend I am searching for something that I have lost. However, if anyone asks, I always tell the truth. (Generally no-one has ever asked.)

My two cents... If they aren't hurting anybody, enjoy the decreased maintenance. Often times, when I go on vacations or business trips, I will go find caches some of which haven't been touched for some time. I personally appreciate them.

I love the approvers, and the moderators... Why ? They do this for free, and get no love for it. You may all have my bud light.

Always try to stand almost every time your feet nearly almost didn't. Or not.

Been caching all week in Germany. Used the same methods I use in Southern California... You need not change anything... But beware ! Other countries have different tastes in caches. German people (And especially people in Frankfurt) love to build complicated multi stage plans in the form of multi caches... You just about need to be a rocket scientist to solve some... So do your research up front as much as possible. Figure out the general location of your cache area, and try to translate the cache hints (If you are going to be in a location that has a language you are unfamiliar with.) But above all... Have a great time !

Once again, you will find that WAAS eats batteries like crazy and does not improve your accuracy by much. Trust me on this one.

Isn't a pro-file what professional people use to file stuff in ? I am sooo confused.

Use the force Luke ! Seriously though, I find it is helpful to triangulate by figuring out where the base location is (The first place the GPS leads you to...) and then trying it from a few different directions where applicable. This generally does it if it's there... By the way, I have been doing this awhile and I still think it's blind luck. Don't feel bad, you are in good company.

As for me, I might be tempted to go out and find all the archived caches from someone being jerky like that. Take them home, clean them up, and make life more fun for everyone else. Maybe it's not right, but I cannot believe how stupid some folks get over little issues. Grow up for goodness sake ! Most of the people on this site are volunteers for crying out loud. They don't need our crap, they have lives too. Please get back to the fun of the chase and the thrill of the find. I am not aiming that at everyone, just the people who take the fun out of it for the moderators, administrators and approvers. The people who sacrifice their time for free and get absolutely no thanks for it. As for me, I am willing to live with a few snags if it makes things better for the Geocaching community at large. I love this game. I play it all over God's great earth. I like most of the people who I meet. I love the places I have found. Sheesh, I even still love it after finding a dead body near Vegas. I am thankful for the hard work and efforts of those who make GC.com what it is. My family thanks you too ! So lighten up everyone. It's a game for goodness sake! Play hard and smile more often!

I just bought a Jeep Wrangler. I am getting the obligatory 15 MPG and I live in SoCal where gas prices average about 2.37 for the cheap stuff. So, I just cache when I am on business trips. The company writes off my fun. Tomorrow I am heading to Frankfurt Germany. I feel so lucky and wish I could take all of you with me. Please don't hate me.

As for me, I wait by the cache site patiently for the next unsuspecting cacher and I jump out and scare them. (BLAAAAAHHHHH !!!!!) No, I am just messing around. I don't do that. Seriously though, I will look for days and days and not say anything. Then quietly go back and change my DNF into a Found. (But shhhhhhh don't tell anyone.) Hey, at least I am honestly being !

So long as caches don't start moving people... I think we will be okay. (P.S. Moving caches stinks. It makes the game no fun. ARRRGGGHHH !)
