  1. Actually if you use CacheMate (for paperless caching), there's an option there to insert the time at the start of your log. Checkout my log on GC14QT0 Cheers, Paksen
  2. Does this screwy sort order then affect tools like GSAK and or stat generator tools It's not about the numbers? Paksen -getting ready to log #100
  3. ClydeE, you da'man! That's exactly what it was. Thanks so much.
  4. Help me out here someone. I've got 312 caches that I want to add to my Garmin (via GSAK). GSAK says that all 312 have been sent but when I check the GPSr, it's just not so. Even if I add in the child waypoints, I'm still no where near 300, but instead less than 60. So that's less than 60 total waypoints. I have cleared all waypoints, tracks and routes. I've got just the base default maps. I know I've had more than 60 waypoints in this thing in the past.
  5. Drat! I could have sworn I saw other logs with both Found It and something else. Ok 2 logs it is. No sweat Thanks
  6. If I find a cache and want it flagged for maintenance, is it possible to do that with just one entry? I don't see a way to say "Found It" and "Needs Maint." at the same time so I've been leaving 2 logs. Is there a better way?
  7. I live in Denver and am trying to figure out a good strategy for building some PQ's for the metro area. I go back and forth with should I just load up all of Denver and if so how do I structure those PQ's. Or should I just stick to the areas I'm interested in. So far what I've been doing is trying to figure out the zip code of the area I want and doing a 5mi radius. My guess is that in some circumstances the PQ's for those zip codes will over lap. Over lapping seems inefficient. So I'm looking for some advice on a good strategy to use for building a base of urban PQ's. Cheers, Paksen crossposted to GSAK.net
  8. I have GSAK and use CacheMate to download into my PDA (Tungsten E) A couple of questions. In GSAK, there's a 'notes' window that I can put user notes and log notes. #1 - will GSAK automatically upload these to gc.com? (I'm not sure I want that to happen.) #2 - How do I get these notes and log notes show up in CacheMate? I like that CacheMate has a log page, so I can make notes and record my date/time of the find. I don't see that same functionality in Plucker. #3 - Will information entered on my PDA in cachemate find it's way back to my GSAK? If so, how? #4 - Is there a way to clear out the CacheMate db on my PDA? I want to keep out of state information completely separate Thanks in advance for any help Paksen
  9. more etiquette questions... Do I have to have a TB or Geocoin to trade in order to pull one out of a cache? I am from Denver and was recently in Maryland and NYC and did a bit of caching. One of the cache's I thought about going after showed it to have a TB. I wasn't sure if I could pick it up and move it to Denver since I didn't have a TB to drop off. Is it obvious when you find a TB what it's goal/mission is? Thanks Paksen
  10. Ah, so I am doing it backwards. Start with the cache first, then find a trail.... which I guess means I need to get mapping software?
  11. I want to go hiking this weekend. A place/trail I've hiked before. The difference this time is I want to cache as well. I know how to get to the trailhead... by car. What I don't know are the coordinates (long/lat) of the trailhead. So, how do I do a search (on this website), if I can't give long/lat? Do I just pick a zipcode that I think is where I'll be and load up with 100 waypoints and hope that they're near the trail? Or am I going about this backward somehow? No I haven't bought any of the nifty cool mapping software, I blew my wad on the GPS (Garmin Vista Cx)
