+Docapi
I am looking at an Ifinder on Ebay. The aution title calls it an IFinder, but in the descrition it lists: Precise, Powerful, Personal Navigation in a Sleek Shirt Pocket-Sized GPS/Mapping Receiver 12 parallel channel GPS receiver 1.7" x 2.2" Display size 160 pixel x 120 pixel, High Trust Film SuperTwist display Backlit Screen Excellent viewing in direct sunlight GPS/Mapping Built-in Lowrence background map MapCreate custom mapping software Internal back-up memory 1,000 waypoints/3000 event markers 10 savable plot trails/5,000 points per trail Multiple map zoom ranges Easy point-and-map cursor navigation/route planning Ships with black faceplate Am I right in thinking that it must be the "Plus" package? From what I can tell, the Mapcreate software only comes in the plus package. Quote Link to comment
peter
Send the seller an email asking for clarification on the software. Lots of people sell units and include software that may not have originally come with them (such as MapSource Topo or MG with a Vista or Mapsend Topo with a Meridian). OTOH, the listing may just mean that the unit can be used with the optional MapCreate software. Only the seller will know for sure what's actually included. Quote Link to comment
+Docapi
I sent an E-mail, but haven't got a reply. The auction ends in 2 hours. The way it is listed -with bullets before each line- really leads me to believe that the software must be included, especially since it is in the middle of the list with all the other features. If not, the listing would be almost intentionally misleading. To me, if it was just that it worked with Mapcreate, then it should say "used with" or "works with" optional mapcreate software. Am I being realistic here, or am I way off base? It might be that the software is added into the auction, not as part of the origional package. If so, I can live with that, I would probably upgrade the memory card anyways and I already have a card reader. Quote Link to comment
Hoary
Note. If included MapCreate version 6.3, it require LEI-branded card reader to work (rights restriction stuff). Quote Link to comment
+Docapi
I got a reply- The software is built in. No cd ia included. Also, none of the accessories you mentioned is included. It has a slot for memory card. thanks The description is pretty misleading. At least I found out before I bid. Quote Link to comment
