+Nuwati
I transfered some waypoints from cachemate to my Garmin 60C. I got the stupid GC..... yada, yada waypoint code. Means nothing to me at all. Is there anyway to transfer the actual names of the caches? Nuwati Quote Link to comment
+NightPilot
Send the caches to Cachemate using SmartNames in GSAK. Cachemate just sends whatever it has for a code, it doesn't do smart names. GSAK, through GPSBabel, does smart names very well, and I use them every time. The geocaching.com codes are really worthless, serving only as database identifiers on the site software. GSAK uses the cache name to make waypoint identifiers, of whatever length you specify. I send these directly to my GPS in GSAK and to Cachemate, so Cachemate never sees the GCxxxx identifier. Note that it's very possible to get 2 or more caches with exactly the same name, but GSAK will generate unique identifiers for those. Quote Link to comment
