+Xangxa
I've read online comments about there being free DRG (digital raster graphics) of the USGS topo maps. I've searched this site but the threads had no specific details. I've also searched the USGS.gov site and couldn't find the maps. The closest I got was pointing me to a list of "partners" that would SELL me a map. Can anyone give me some specific links to some 1:24K or better DRG's? I'm wanting, at least to begin with, topos for a 50 mile radius around Chattanooga, TN to use with GPSTuner. Quote Link to comment
+reveritt
Use the Topozone link that appears on each cache page. Quote Link to comment
Glamar
The preview maps from MyTopo.com are pretty handy. Easy to register in moving map software also. Just create a map like you are going to buy one and then preview it. Oh, by the way, buy a few, they are really great maps. Glamar Quote Link to comment
+Poindexter
Download your free USGS quads for Tennessee here. To find the names of the quads you need go here and zoom in on your area until your in far enough to see the quad names. I see you use GPS Tuner. You'll have to convert these .tif files to a file type that it supports. Any good graphics program will do this. A nice feature of Oziexplorer is that it will automatically calibrate these maps. I don't think GPS Tuner will do that. Edited February 2, 2005 by Poindexter Quote Link to comment
