Buddyah
We borrowed a GPS. He could not find the book so we are trying to figure out how to work it - lol! We hope to go on our first adventure today if we can figure out how to enter coordinates. It is a Garmin eTrex. I am going to see what I can find here on how to. Found owners manual on Garmin site Yeah! Quote Link to comment
+jeremyp
Garmin have pdf versions of their manuals on their web site. Try this URL http://www.garmin.com/support/userManual.html ------- jeremyp The second ten million caches were the worst too. http://www.jeremyp.net/geocaching Quote Link to comment
+Markwell
That owners manual is your first best source. Try marking a waypoint and then walking a couple blocks away. Have the GPS "guide" you back to that point (notice that it's not precisely where you marked. For geocaches, just change the coordinates of a marked waypoint to match those on the cache page - then have the GPS guide you to the cache. Remember how far off you were from the place you marked in your experiment. You could potentially be that far off (and if the hider was off that far, it's even more dicey). Good luck. And welcome to the addiction. Markwell Chicago Geocachers Quote Link to comment
