+GyPSyRover
Hello All I am here in Johannesburg for the next week and am having a problem with my GPSR. I have a Garmin Vista and I can only get one satellite. Granted I am rather a newbie to geocaching but I don't understand why I can't get better fixes. Do I need to set something up on my Vista? Any help would be appreciated GyPSyRover Richard Montague Edited October 23, 2004 by GyPSyRover Quote Link to comment
+NimravusHSSR
Try initializing the GPSr again and let it sit in clear view of the sky for 15 minutes or so. This will download the almanac and should work. I've had this happen a couple of times over the years. Recently, on my Rino it would only pick up a couple of sats and give me the message "poor reception". I re-initialized from scratch. In a few minutes it picked up the usual 6-10 sats and I let it sit for several more minutes to ensure all data was downloaded... Edited October 23, 2004 by FlashMaster Quote Link to comment
+RubberToes
On tghe options menu of the satellite page, select New Location. (It is suggested to use this option when ever you've moved the unit 500 miles.) Quote Link to comment
+GyPSyRover
Thanks Guys I love it when I learn something new. I didn't know about the need to reset my location. It works like a champ now. Thanks again Richard Quote Link to comment
