Guest Chris Juricich Posted August 6, 2001 Share Posted August 6, 2001 Left at 10am on Saturday to do a multi-puzzle cache, got through the first two, but stumbled on the third. Humped around the bush for nearly two hours. Did a quick web search, found the cacher's phone number; called him with hope for some help. Here was the problem: my eTrex reads out distance and time to the input cache location. It starts with miles and then moves to feet. When the GPS started telling me I was within '.12m' from the third cache, I figured... "Hmm. .12 meters, eh?" I thought I was about 36 feet from the cache. D-oh. I was actually .12 MILES from the cache (or about an eighth of a mile) So... returned today chastened, and fortunately managed to progress on the killer path to its ultimate success. Hooray for me. I was so tired when I got there I literally didn't care. My elation went BUMP for about two seconds, then started moaning about the long walk back. Still, now that I'm rested... I'll be out there again next weekend!
