+BT5
(CNN) -- Accused mailbox bomber Lucas Helder told authorities he was planting pipe bombs in a pattern to show a happy face during his five-state weekend spree. The rest of the story is at: http://www.cnn.com/2002/US/05/09/mailbox.pipebombs/index.html The creepy thing is, this occurred to me as an idea for a multicache once (the smiley face, not the bombings). Worcester, Mass is supposedly the home of the smiley face , from the 60's or something... The multicache would be at least 7 stages, I guess. I was undecided on whether to keep the last spot (ie, the left eye) a mystery and have people try to calculate where it would be. Are there any other multicaches out there that make the searchers trace out a big shape? Nick BT5 Quote Link to comment

+rdw
Thumbs up for the smiley face. I had a good laugh when I read about this. I can't help but be intrigued by someone who would think of this then follow through. If he had a GPS, it would not be difficult to lay out the circles and arc. rdw Quote Link to comment
+sbell111
I don't think he was one of us. His eyes were way to uneven to be plotted on a gps. Quote Link to comment

+Team GPSaxophone
Wasn't that bomber guy in ART SCHOOL? Maybe he was failing and he wanted to show his prof. that he could draw. I'd still fail him. Quote Link to comment
