blesk
For a long time, maps.yahoo.com used to have a wonderful feature that whenever you searched for an address and then clicked on the map, the URL would contain the exact latitude and longitude of the mapped location. Mapquest has always went by x and y coordinates, which are useless for GPS units. A few months ago though, Yahoo started going by x and y coordinates as well. Is there some mapping service out there that someone knows about where you can look up an address, and it gives you the GPS location? Quote Link to comment
+dwmurphy
Have you tried www.topozone.com ? It gives you the coordinates of the cursor. It doesn't go by address's, but you can find by the city and state. This may not be what your used to.... I'm not Lost, my GPS says I'm right here....no over here......no over here. +Markwell
Try using maporama.com or geocode.com to get the coordinates of an address. If you want a satellite image or topo map, start with the coordinates given by those two and then go to Lostoutdoors.com. Clicking on their images will tell you the coordinates. BTW - MS Streets and Trips will do this offline, but of course, you have to buy the software. It also has the capabilities of importing caches and searching for caches along a route. Combine that with the feature you're looking for above, and it's well worth the price. Markwell Chicago Geocaching Quote Link to comment
