Guest jack
There may be some legal issues when creating a cache within a national park you should ask first if permits are needed. (which they probably are) Quote Link to comment
Guest BigFig
Aside from any possible legal issues, it's just plain inconsiderate to hide a cache in a forest or park without letting the local officals know what's going on. I spoke with the district ranger of my area this morining on the phone and he didn't know what geocaching was - can you imagine how he would have felt if he found out about it by reading a newspaper or outback magazine?? Professional land managers like forest rangers and park supervisors have a whole range of valid concerns ranging from drug smuggling to protection of archelogical sites. Let's not add to their headaches by sneaking around - 'cos they are going to find out anyway. Quote Link to comment
