My batteries, by the way were fairly fresh. About 3/4 charge according to the battery icon. When I got home I took the batteries out and turned the vista off for about ten minutes and it seems okay now. My question is this -- can the system os or firmware become scrambled or corrupted? I'm worried now. I don't want these kinds of problems when I'm deep in the woods. I'm not sure if it's a hardware problem or firmware at this point. Anyone else have this happen to them? Taking a battery out momentarily always reset the unit, but that got old quick. Garmin had a new unit back to me in just one week.
