sherlockonline
I just purchased a Meridian (Yellow) Basic GPS with 2MB Flash Rom. I accidentally loaded the Marine North America Basemap instead of the NA (North America) base map and now I get a very dark screen with: "UNIT CURRENTLY CONTAINS NO MAP" "INTIATING MAP UPLOAD" I have tried to reload the North America base map but I think I have corrupted the Flash ROM. Is there a manual way to set the com setting on the GPS unit? I have found a few buttons (ESC & GOTO) that I press when I power on and give me: "SOFTWARE UPLOAD MODE ACTIVE" but it doesn't communicate with my PC. Is there anyone out there that can help this NEWBIE????? Please???? Sherlockonline Quote Link to comment
ride_bent
Well, this is an old PC trick. I am not sure if this is even remotely possible with a GPS. On a PC, booted it on a good ROM. While the machine is , pull the good ROM and place the bad ROM. Then flash it while already booted. Might work... http://www.geoindiana.com Quote Link to comment
