If I understand correctly - the 330 already had the hardware needed to support WAAS. I do not believe the 315 has the capacity to do WAAS - and not even a firmware update could change that. Guest ClayJar Posted November 1, 2001 Share Posted November 1, 2001 The main issue with supporting WAAS in a given receiver is the memory requirement. Downloading, storing, and using the WAAS corrections obviously uses memory, and the older receivers don't have enough there to play with. It's not a conspiracy, it's a hardware limitation.
