eTrex Legend click toggle waypoint positioning

Has anyone figured out exactly when the waypoint is accepted when you click and hold the toggle on an eTrex Legend?

 

Problem: you are traveling in a car, boat or bike and you want to quickly mark an accurate waypoint. You click and hold the toggle. Several seconds later the "mark waypoint" screen comes up. During those several seconds you have moved.

 

Question: are the coordinates of the waypoint marking the location when you started to click and hold or at the time the waypoint screen appears? Could someone run outside and check this, it's raining cats and dogs here.

It records the position at when you first clicked it. And you have to maintain the click for 2 seconds. :~) Just make sure to have your finger on the button if you are going to mark a spot while driving or be prepared to get it on the way back home.
