There's quite a few in Toro Regional Park, which has excellent trails and picnic facilities. Views are breathtaking as well. Park is off Hwy 68 between Salinas and Monterey. +Dagwood&Blondie
There are a lot of good caches in the Monterey area. Here are a couple of my favorite: Bonus Bench by Sirius and Red This cache has an awesome view! Ghost Tracks by Ford Gives you the feeling like you're in the movie "Stand By Me" Ghost Town by Just A Short Walk Gives you a eerie feeling, in a good way The Funny Tree! by Just A Short Walk and Along For The Ride! In the same area as Ghost Town. But Cache location can be a tough and fun find. Remember, This a game. It's supposed to be FUN. Quote Link to comment
scontapay
Thank you for those heads up my son and I are looking for some caches to hit this weekend. Sam -- "Geocaching is great! Have something to do with my son and get out an exercise" Quote Link to comment
+Dagwood&Blondie
If anyone is looking for an "EcoChallenge" type geocache, look for the Sea Otter Schwag cache, but start from the Reservation Road/Watkins Gate entrance to Fort Ord. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes!!! The GPSr will say it's only 2.76 miles to the cache from the parking area, but the trails taking you there are much, much longer. To sum it up in one word... BLISTERS!!! -- Remember, This is a game. It's supposed to be FUN. Don't take this or yourself too seriously! -- Quote Link to comment
