I just placed the "Golden Spike" in "Virtual" Japan. Now we need to figure out where to retrieve it on Wed. 06/19/02.

Thinking about Portland City grill at Happy hour iffin anybody can make it early or late. Happy hour is 4:30-6:30 and 10:00 to close. Great view and hear happy hour menu is awesome! Or else Mothers Bistro and Bar. Let me know what you think.

Sorry, forgot to say that Portland City Grill is on the 30th floor of the Unico US Bank Tower, a remodel of the restaurant formerly known as Atwater's. I read that during happy hour that you can get good food for like 5 dollars! Mothers Bistro And Bar is pretty close bye at 409 SW 2nd Ave. They also have great food for pretty good prices (Less then 20.00 for a meal). Not sure of drink prices, but the bar looks kinda cool. Or let me know of any other ideas.

How many people are going to go tonight? So far I only know of fractal, soup, and myself. I guess I have to make a choice so it will be the Portland City Grill. If only these three show up and they like the idea, we can move on up to Paley's place (GREAT drinks, but limited upscale seating). I don't know when we will be starting, but I am going to try to make it during "Happy Hour" but I have a lot of yard work to due today, so not sure if make it real early. The good news is "Happy Hour" starts back up at 10:00 until close. I will post before I leave and will let you all know the status of fractal and myself.

And so here I am thinking to myself,"I know it's nearby, but where the heck is the Portland City Grill anyway?" Lunchtime comes around and I head out to get a salad from some buffet place that we call Salad World 2002, but has a real un-buffet-like name such as Paragon, and lo and behold, I'm approximately 29 floors under my night-life destination! I must've been there 10 times and never noticed the posters telling me to go upstairs for "the best view in Portland". I must've been too busy looking around for hidden urban caches icon_eek.gif

Did anybody see a Shinwa pig running around, oh yeah, I think I saw one on wed night over at the PCG! You can still spot a Shinwa pig for yourself next week one night at the same place with wife and in-law's not sure of the night, but maybe we can make a virtual (listening Tungsten?) if you can get a picture of a Shinwa pig yourself sucking down some great, cheap eats. Be prepared and watch your fingers least I think they're a prawn.

He he, oink oink.......
