+JohnCNA
I'm publishing two puzzle caches that require orienteering skills to calculate the location of the final. #1 gives two coordinate points and a bearing for each point. The final is located at the intersection of those two lines. #2 gives a location with bearing line and another location with distance in order to calculate the final position. (intersection of line and circle). On Android, this can be done with Locus as well as the GCC app. On Windows & Mac, Google Earth Pro can do it. I'd like to provide an app suggestion for the iPhone. Can any of our iPhone users here recommend an iPhone app that can do these calculations? Preferably a free app, of course. Quote Link to comment
+niraD
The one that I did that was similar to #1 (GC1EN5B) didn't offer any app suggestions other than specifying which app the CO used. Note that different apps can give different results, if the distances involved are non-trivial. Quote Link to comment
+Joe_L
Regardless of the app, make sure your instructions are clear about whether the bearings are relative to true north or magnetic north. Joe 1 Quote Link to comment
