Nagadir
Hello! I am a game artist/designer about to start on my Master thesis. I considered basing my thesis around Geocaching, Locative Media and Hybrid Play Spaces and I got especially interested in the potential of Wherigo. I would love to try and design an adventure like game cartridge as a practical addition to my thesis. I started looking online for documentation, examples of cartriges, etc. I still could not find a very important detail, no matter where I searched. Is there any way you can create animated characters? That speak and move? Sorry if this question is too noobish or if it was already answered! Thanks a lot! Quote Link to comment
Ranger Fox
Let me get back with you next week. I'm geocaching in the desert at the moment. Quote Link to comment

Ranger Fox
Oh, fun things with travel. I was supposed to be back by now, but there was some smoke from a burning wire on the plane and they had to cancel the flight. I took a red eye to Washington Dulles, and that's where I am now, at 5AM. Anyway, let me try to answer part of your question. It's possible to create a pseudo animation using message boxes, images, and timers. Set a timer at a short interval and have it fire the next message box in a series. It's like how they made cartoons with paper. One of the updates to Wherigo v1.1 should allow for animated GIFs. Mangatome is the one putting the new Wherigo player together for iOS, Android, and Windows Phone. He's the best person to ask for particulars since we've all been concentrating on our parts at the moment. You'll hear more about what to expect later this month or the next. Quote Link to comment
