Search on Garmin 450

I have a Garmin 450. There is a Find Another function that I assume is a search feature. When I type in a cache Name or Code for caches that I know are on the Garmin I get a No Results Found result.

This is while I am inside working at my desk.

What am I doing wrong?

I left my 450t in a friends car last week. Did not retrieve it yet, so I am working from memory. Find Another should only direct you to the next nearest cache (Found/Unfound?). I really don't use it. I tap DONE instead and then tap on the Geocache icon (Treasure Chest) and then I believe FIND GEOCACHE?. SHOW FOUND is also an option I use often. From either one, along the bottom of the screen (to the right of the X?) is an ABC button. Tap it and do your text search (I don't think I ever tried to look up a GC#. Cache names only for me, but try it. Works equally well on FIND CACHE and SHOW FOUND. It will not pull from both at the same time. If you get to a unique match (or at least few enough options that they will all fit on the screen) it automatically brings up the cache/cache candidates. If it is a much more common text sequence, you have to tap the GREEN ARROW to bring up the possible candidates. Close enough from memory I hope. Whenever I see a button that I don't understand, I keep tapping at it trying to figure it out. Often easier than trying to read the manual.

What you describe is actually "Find Next Closest".

"Find Another" is another function that works differently depending on how you access it:

1. If you're navigating to a cache, then go to the "Geocaches" menu button, "Find Another" is the second-to-last button, just above "Show Found". Tapping "Find Another" here will give you a list of caches sorted by distance from your current location in the same way as if you tapped "Geocaches" while not navigating to a cache, then tapped "Find a Geocache".

2. If you're navigating to a cache, then go to the "Where To?" button, then "Find another", it will give you a list of POI categories in the same way as if you tapped "Where To?" while not navigating to anything.

...When I type in a cache Name or Code for caches that I know are on the Garmin I get a No Results Found result.

It's worth mentioning that you can't search the cache list by GC code. The text search only searches the names of the caches (and I believe only the first 20 or so characters of the name).
