Wherigo - does this work with my Magellan 310?

I was on the Wherigo page and checking how it works but it seems to be something for smart phones or the Oregon GPS.

 

Will this work with the Magellan 310? and how does this work? Do you find caches along the way or just clues that lead to more coordinates or clues that lead to the next location?

 

Turns out there are a fairly close by, one can be done by bike and I thought we might try it but it looks complicated.

 

Can I do it without an Oregon GPS?

I'm pretty sure Magellans don't have the capability to do Wherigos.

 

If you do have a smartphone I've found the WhereYouGo app to work really well for Wherigos.

Unfortunately I only have a dumb phone - would one still use a GPS to find the locations? is the app only for question answering and the GPS is for finding the locations?

No, since the smart phone is GPS enabled, once you download the Wherigo cartridge, it recognizes when you make it to certain spots and pulls up the next clue/question for the next location. So you can't see the second location until you make it the first location... can't see the third location until you make it to the second location... etc. So you need a device that can read the cartridge, and you use that device both for answering questions and for finding locations.
