MarkD60 Posted May 9, 2013 Share Posted May 9, 2013 I had a Garmin eTrex Vista C and now I have a GPSmaps 78. I have some maps on CD that I'd like to transfer to the memory card. I've put them on the card, (in folders) but the GPS doesn't see them. I thought I'd ask before I moved all the files out of the folders and make a file mess. Quote Link to comment

I only use Windows Explorer to install maps. Active maps are stored in the H:\Garmin\subdirectory The micro sd card: H:\DCIM\ (for geotagged photos and photos) H:\Garmin\gmaprom.img gmapsupp_CA.img gmapsuppUSA.img \Garmin\GPX\ \Garmin\MAPS\ \Garmin\POI\ Under Garmin\Maps\ I keep other not activated maps (gmapsuppUSAplains.img,gmapsupp_2013UK.img, gmapsupp_PragueCZ.img, gmapsupp_danube.img) Under Garmin\POI\ all manner of POI (PointsOfInterest, from restaurants, to speed radar cameras, geocaches and TourGuides) Quote Link to comment
