Totally new to geocacheing, but though it sounded like a fun way to spend a Sunday or two with the kids & wife.

 

Can light data be used to find a cache? how does this data differ from full data.

 

Using a Nokia Lumia 800, if I use the compass view does this prevent data usage (limited).

 

Any advise greatly appreciated.

Which app do you use to get that compass view?

I store the cache data in my phone app at home via the WiFi. That way whilst I am out I'm only using my GPS and compass.

Using the Geocaching Live app.

 

Noticed that when you fire it up, it shows a map view, which I asume requires data, but if switched then to the compass view, does it stop with the data download?
