+TJ Willy
Great unit. Perfect for the newbies and excellent for pros. Great under heavy tree canopy. I would not be getting rid of it except for the simple fact that I just won a copy of Streets and Destinations so I HAVE TO UPGRADE NOW!!! NO EXCUSE!!! Lots of cool features you can read about by using the below link: Magellan 315 First one with $100 bucks gets it. Shipping Included inside the good ole USA! Happy Caching! OV3RW4TCH
I use the MAgellan 315 and highly recommend it due to the fact it has coordinate averaging, which is a big time bonus for Geocaching. Just make sure you have version 3.14 or 3.15. Want any more info let me know. OV3RW4TCH
right when it first starts up it will tell you. And yes you can upgrade, just please be sure you know what your doing before you do. Magellan, or anyone for that matter do not support self upgrades. dave and jaime
i just recently upgraded from ver 2.07 to ver 3.15 and did the upgrade myself. before i tried that, i posted several questions here and called magellan. they gave me the details on the procedure and coached me through the upgrade while on the telephone. they also offered to either do the upgrade for me, or arrange for one of their service outlets do the upgrade for me, at my shipping expense. +TJ Willy
This unit has not been upgraded and one of the major differences is when you are close the coordinates you are triangulating to, it does not convert to feet. But at the time I was considering the upgrade, I heard through the forums that there was another problem associated with the upgrade. And since I have had no problem finding caches, I did not care if it put me in feet. Thanks, Phil Quote Link to comment
