NOKIA E7

I've got a Nokia E7 which was, until I upgraded to OS Belle from Anna, running Geocache Navigator very successfully. However, I now find that it's no longer available on the Belle OS. Does anyone know of any software which will run on this OS? I also have 'cacheme' which did run successfully but since the change to the map format on geocaching.com it no longer works. In short it appears that I'm stuffed and can't find any software to enable me to carry on with my caching.

What about ViewRanger GPS? Ovi Store says it is available for Belle. Its Geocaching support is not as good as Geocaching Live, but it's better than nothing. And its map support is actually a lot better, as ViewRanger supports a persistent cache. (I.e. it won't start downloading the map over the air every time you start the program, but will use the map tiles you've downloaded before.)

I have not yet upgraded my N8 to Belle. If you try ViewRanger and find it works (or does not work), I'd be thankful for a short notice.

I've been running Geocache Navigator on my N8. I love it.. rather I Loved it!

i "upgraded" Belle last week.

it is good but it deleted most my apps, including Navigator. I paid £26.99 for that!

Ovi Store says it isn't available for Belle.

i have contacted Trimble, who said

"It appears that Nokia has upgraded the firmware from Anna to Belle and has for some reason removed some of the applications from the website. It has been informed to our engineers and we are yet to hear from them."

At least they are on the case. I just hope they realise how important this app is to us!!! (i know I'm sad!)

To add insult to it, Belle decided to freeze on me whilst i was writing this on phone. it also froze on me last night too... only to find my daughter had been taken to hospital!!

Having an integral battery meant that i just had to sit it out. It had never frozen under Anna. Very disappointing.

Regarding the Belle firmware update on my Nokia N8 I too have lost my Trimble Navigator Its an expensive app at 26.99 GB pounds and with just 30 days use I looking for a full refund from Nokia. The problem I have now there is no geocaching app for this phone and Trimble are not particularly keen to update what is a dying Symbian operating system.I should have bought an android phone I would not be in the position Im in now with18 months left on my contract Im stuck with it. You can see why Nokia have fallen from great heights in the cell phone market and have struggled to compete against the android and iphone

Actually Nokia were very helpful and refunded immediately without question. Excellent service.

However, I will be moving from Nokia next time. either Android or i might just have to see why everyone raves about iphones. Camera not so good but ho hum at least they have Geocache Navigator.

I have downloaded Geocache Live this week. i found 2 geocaches today but luckily they were easy ones. It is NOT easy to use and is only a Beta version at the moment so no instructions anywhere. the map is fine.. but i am sure it doesn't zoom in as far as GN.

I haven't yet sussed out the radar or compass features but it sort of works. I look forward to the full version... does anyone have any news on the full version?

You can get up the arrow keys at the bottom by going into

settings, application settings, installations, already installed, find GL, right click and choose suite settings. choose on-screen keypad... navigation keys only.
