After upgrading to IE9, the map doesn't work and the personal cache note doesn't work...possibly more stuff.

Go to Tools > Compatibility View. That will bring them back for the Geocaching.com site. If you go to Tools > Compatibility View Settings, you can check "Display all Websites in Compatibility View" and not deal with this anymore, on any other website.
