Garmin 60CSx and Mac

I have a mac computer as well as a Garmin 60SCX. I would like an Ordnance Survey map on both so that walks can be tracked on my GPS and shown on the MAC.

Can anyone advise.

It is not possible to have actual OS maps on your GPS but Garmin offer UK topo maps that are created using OS map data. https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=1359

To get OS maps on your Mac that allow you to transfer waypoints, routes, and tracks to and from your GPS, the only program I know of is Route Buddy. The program costs £69.50 and the OS explorer maps for it cost £19.99 per map and OS Landranger maps cost £11.99 per map. Maps of entire regions can also be bought. http://routebuddy.com/

Another program that I know of for viewing OS maps on your Mac, and creating routes and waypoints is Anquet maps. This program does not allow you to transfer data directly to and from the GPS but allows you to save waypoints and routes as GPX files and open GPX files. These files can be transfered to and from the GPS using a program such as Garmin Basecamp. The program itself is free and offers free satellite imagery and OS explorer maps vary in price from about £15 to £45 depending on the area covered by the map. Landranger maps are about £10 for entire regions. http://www.vpmaps.com/

I would recommend trying the demo of Route Buddy and the full version of Anquet maps to get a feel for the programs before choosing. Anquet maps include trial maps of a small area so you can see how the program works and what the different maps show.

Hope you find a system that meets your needs. Just ask if you have any questions. :)
