Questions about Prem Membership

I have the Premium membership and had to reload all the caches I had in it to get the hints.... annoying.... now I have a couple of more questions.....1 what is a pocket query?

2. I notice that it will tell me of other caches along the way but they all seem to be ones I have already loaded.....is there a way to get caches that are along the way if you set off for one place and end up in another if so how? I have a Oregon 450

Thanks

i got the pocket q emailed to my address but how do I download it to my GPS?

1. http://www.geocaching.com/pocket/ http://www.markwell.us/pq.htm

2. The GPS unit will only show the caches that have been loaded to it in advance. It doesn't have any means of showing caches that haven't already been loaded to it ... if that's what you are asking.

Motorcycle Mama didn't answer the same question with the same answer twice. You quoted her, like I quoted you quoting her.

Depending on the GPS, you can either just save the GPX file to your GPS, or you'll need software like EasyGPS or GSAK to transfer the results.

If the PQ is over 500 caches, you can't download it from the email. Go to your PQ page and there is a tab that says "Pocket Queries Ready To Download", click on it and your will see your PQs. Click the one you want to download. If you have the GSAK program, you can load them from it easily. I'm thinking you probably don't. If not, unzip the file you downloaded, then with your GPS plugged in to your computer, browse to you GPS and there is a folder in there labeled GPX, drop you unzipped PQ into there. There should be 2 files, one is waypoints and the other is caches. I'm not at home right now, so if you can't find the GPX folder, let me know and I will let know where it is, or maybe someone on here can tell you for sure. I believe it's in a folder called Garmin, but I might be wrong.
