Droid Eris and CacheMate?

Recommended Posts

Hello - I'm new to the forums and apologize profusely if this has already been asked somewhere (I didn't find it but had trouble using the keyword search).

Can anyone tell me if CacheMate (or another geocaching app) works on the HTC Droid Eris from Verizon? I know it works on the Motorola, but my husband has the Eris and I am unsure. I can't find any info on CacheMate's website and google search has also not given me the answer. Thought someone on here might have the Eris and has tried using it for geocaching.

Thanks in advance,

Melissa :)

You should ask on the Cachemate site - he's really good at responding to this kind of question and who knows, he might even be in the process of piping it to Eris, so it can't hurt for you to ask, and for him to know there's a need.

cachemate will work fine on a Droid Eris. Thats basically a repackaged HTC Hero, which a lot of people have.

If you want, you can download the APK file from smittyware.com and run it in demo mode.

you will need a file explorer to be able to install it after you download. I recommend ES File Explorer. Just browse to the downloads folder and click on the APK.

Also, in the settings, under Applications, you will need to check the box that says "Unknown Sources"
