+DiSiGot
My Garmin 60Csx has started freezing up once in a while on the home screen when I turn it on. I have to take out a battery to reset it. Any suggestions? The only things I've done differently are: 1. replaced the micro card. After I did that it would often freeze up and buzz. So, I put the original card back in and it no longer buzzes but still freezes once in a while. 2. Switched my Garmin maps to Mac and I use Garmin Roadtrip and Garmin BaseCamp as the computer programs for transferring maps and waypoints to the GPS. 3. I've also been adding and deleting and adding and deleting several geocaches recently. I'd appreciate your suggestions. Please don't tell me I need to get a new GPS. This one is about 3 years old and I've really liked it. Quote Link to comment
jkettu
Macs do write some unnecessary stuff to the sd card that causes this kind of behaviour. IIRC the cure is simply to delete those offending files from the card. Sorry, can't remember the details and couldn't find them with couple minutes of searching, but this is a known issue and has been discussed before. Edit: Found it: http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=234140 Edited January 7, 2010 by jkettu Quote Link to comment
