4 Gig Micro SDHC data cards

Can someone tell me if the 4 Gig Micro SDHC data cards work in a Garmin 60csx/76csx series,or do I need a non high capacity card,also with ver.4.00 software can you load up a 4 Gig card to capacity,ie more than the 2500 map sets?Thx.

Yes, software updates 3.0 and newer allow the use of 4 Gb cards. The SDHC will work. You can load up to the capacity of the 4 Gb card. You are still limited to 2,025 maps regardless of the number of Mbs you have on the card.

Software updates 3.90 and above support these higher limit cards not below 3.90.

Changes made from version 3.70 to 3.90:

◦Added support for maps greater than 2 GB.

Thank you for contacting Garmin International. I will be happy to help you with this. The 60CSX can use up to a 4 gig microSD card. I have not heard anything of specific damage by class 4 cards. If you have heard from other customers on forums that they cause damage, then it might not be a good idea to use it. However, I haven't had the chance to test this specific type of card.
