I am a new owner of a 60 CSx and I am trying to load some topo maps onto it. :P I have Mapsource US topo version 3.02 which I used to load topo's onto my Quest 2 using a PC. Now all I have is my Macbook pro and the Mac does not seem to recognize the topo version 3.02. I have downloaded and installed the latest Garmin-released Mac software (Mapinstall / Mapmanager, etc) but stilll nothing. I am starting to fear that Mapsource US topo version 3.02 is NOT Mac compatable. Does anyone have any experience with this and possibly offer some suggestions? I am aware of the solution involving loading the Mapsource onto a PC, converting it for Mac (using Garmin's software) then burning it to a DVD and loading the converted files onto the Mac but I don't have access to a PC right now. If anyone knows a way around this please advise! Thanks in advance!

P.S.: How many topos will fit onto a 2GB card? A 64MB card? :D

I've converted 3 different sets of maps for my Mac, that being said, as far as I know they all have to be converted with MapConvert from Windows. I hope someone can prove me wrong, but that's what I had to do for CN, Topo 2008, and my parks maps. It can be done with Windows installed in Parallels or VMware Fusion, but I know that's far from the best solution. I did it once and now I don't need to boot Windows until the next time I need to convert. Sorry I don't have a better answer for you.

Yep, for a lot of the Topos you still need MapConvert, some of the CityNavs now come with a copy prebuilt for RoadTrip.

Check the DVD, if it has a *.gmap on it then use MapManager with that and it will install, otherwise you will need Fusion or something to install the map under Windows and use MapConvert to make the gmap.

TOPO 3.02 came in a windows version only and you can use it on a Mac once you use MapConverter to convert it to the format that MapInstall (Mac) or RoadTrip will use.
