Cachemate Question

I recently bought Cachemate for a Palm PDA. So far it's working like a charm with the first try. Loaded a PQ into CMConverter and I have 500 paperless cache descriptions in the Palm M105. This looks great. PQ, CMConverter, Save, Hotsync and BLAM!(well, not BLAM, but they did dribble in to the Palm)......now I have 500 in the PDA.

This first 500 are from my local area. I'm going to load another set of 500 from another PQ from another area. I know that the original PQ and this new one will have some of the same caches where the two areas overlap.

What I'd like to know is will Cachemate list these few repetitive caches or will it only load one? Does CM have some way to manually or automatically prevent redundant cache listings?

Thanks.

It looks like it will not duplicate any caches already loaded. I just tried re-loading a past pocket query and none of cache' s doubled up. I am running CM on an IPAQ. Even though our PDA's are two different brands the software should work the same.

You can also set up seperate data files.

I used to have 3

Closest 500 - My standard PQ with the 500 closest caches to my house

To Do with Zach - PQ with 30 1 star 1star regular size to do with my son. ( these overlaped with the closest 500)

and then a third one with caches in an area I was traveling to ( Tahoe, ect..)

Then there is a drop down menu for selecting which data file you want to look at. Also when you load them in it would ask where you wanted the files placed.

But to answer you original question I'm pretty sure if you have two of the same cache it will ask if you want to overwrite or skip. I haven't used cachemate since I got my oregon, so I could be off.

Cachemate never asked me if I want to overwrite or not. It seems to be smart enough to not show duplicates. I don't really use Cachemate for logging, only for displaying, so not sure if it would overwrite logs, etc. Basically, every once in awhile, I dump my entire GSAK database onto my Palm and have no trouble.
