jkh004
Newbie here, sorry for a (maybe) silly question: I downloaded gecocache sites from geochaching.com to my Legend HCx. After setting up the Geocaching icons in SETUP, it moved these downloaded files from the Waypoints section to the Geocaching section. I was able to find several, but after reading the manual (!!), I discovered my HCx was staying in the compass mode instead of going into the geocaching mode as described in the manual, thus giving me the ability to mark items as "found." I suspect this has something to do with the file type, but am not sure how to correct this. The compass mode was very confusing when you were looking for a cache near a major highway as it wanted to lead you to the highway instead of the cache. Thanks in advance for any help. jkh004
I might have it figured out. I turned the "routing" switch from "always highway" to "prompt" and now when looking up a geocache, choosing "off road" now allows the "found, note, and stop" buttons not previously viewable. +Brassine Family
if you don't have it selected to off road, it will attempt to take you to the area via a street/highway. Quote Link to comment
