ryleyinstl
Absolutely you can “get roads and streets” on the eXplorist 500. I have MapSend Topo 3D USA and it actually has a very detailed set of roads, even for very small towns. Quote Link to comment

ryleyinstl
how is it to mapsend worldwide basemap? I’m not sure exactly what you’re asking here. I will assume that you are asking how it compares to the world wide base map? The topo map detail for the roads is as detailed as a road map where I live. This is leaps and bounds more detailed than the base map. The base map only has major roads where as the topo maps has all the roads. The topo details are also very good. Quote Link to comment
+embra
Mapsend Topo3D and Mapsend DirectRoute use the same road database. Topo3D has the topo information, of course, while DirectRoute will do autorouting on streets. Both work on the Explorist (and you can have both stored in the GPS at the same time, although only one map can be active at a time). Worldwide Basemap typically has only the main highways...in some countries, there will only be one or two roads shown. Topo3D and DirectRoute are very detailed, but only for the country they cover.
