+jjreds
Dropping a speed trap or red light camera file onto GSAK doesn't work well because GSAK needs to create a unique code for each waypoint and most of these start with "Red Light" "Speed Camera" "Speed Trap" or something similar which GSAK considers to be duplicates and then processes as a coordinate update only. Using the following http://www.gps-data-team.com/poi/_safety/, select your country, then a speed trap or red light cam and download the Garmin CSV file. To get these loaded into GSAK setup a new database for each type of POI, select the database you want to add the points to, THEN go to "Tools", "Grab Coordinates.." and use the below settings: Use POI Loader in manual mode or the following macro in advanced mode to set the alarms: Download here: http://jjreds01.googlepages.com/download Happy Caching!! +JohnTee
Quite a work-around. That GSAK will just about do it all. Just out of curiosity, is there a reason you want it in GSAK, as opposed to just using the Garmin POI Loader to Load it directly to your Nuvi? I gone this route with the POI Loader, but had not considered trying to push them through GSAK. Cache On! JohnTee Quote Link to comment

JohnTee The problem with POI LOader is that it overwrites the POI.gpi file unless you get into the Nuvi and rename it or setup multiple folders before the load. You also have to make sure any bitmaps and soundfiles you want to use are named correctly and in the correct locations. The 200 Series does not have native TourGuide support. A GSAK macro is currently in development (for Nuvi series only) that addresses the above issues as well as allowing proximity alarms and TourGuide alarms to coexist, geocaches and other types waypoints to coexist and also have variable alert distances for each according to type that will all load "under the hood" with POI Loader. +JohnTee
Got it. I was doing as you mentioned: opening my POI folder in a window when I ran POI Loader. Had folders created as sub-directories and renamed/moved the file after each load. The new GSAK macro sounds promising as away to manage those things. Thanks! Cache On! JohnTee Quote Link to comment
+jjreds
The new GSAK macro sounds promising as away to manage those things. Use the link above to try it out. A future version will allow you to customize TourGuide alerts by cache type. Example: you are traveling and are willing to travel 5 miles off your route to visit an earthcache but only want alerts for traditional caches within .1 miles.
