HarLin
I'm new at this paperless caching. I've got all the caches into my IPAQ with GSAK and Cachemate. I've just received a lot of help from this forum on setting up the columns. I now have the distance column on my screen, but can't figure out how to get the distances into the column. I found the spot "CenterPoint (for distance and bearing calculations) with the "Acquire" button but says I don't have a "GPS interface plugin selected" and "Do I want to use "WMS GPS Driver". When I click "YES it says it's waiting for a GPS fix. Obviously I don't have a GPS in my IPAQ so now I'm really confused. Thanks. HarLin Quote Link to comment
+Team_CSG
This will be one feature of cachemate that you will not be able to use. Quote Link to comment

OK, without a GPSr connected to your PDA, you will not be able to use the feature to the fullest, but it is still possible to use it. If you select any cache, on the summary page, you can tap and hold the cache name. When the fly-out menu appears, select "Set as Center" and now the distance column will show the distance from the cache you had selected as your center point. When I want to use my PDA to find the next nearest cache, I will select the cache we just found and set it to be my center point. Now if I sort on distance, it will show me based on the coordinates listed for the cache we just found. Quote Link to comment

Does the IPAQ/Windows version of Cachemate have the "Search for Nearest Caches" option, as the Palm version does? If so, then HarLin can search for the nearest caches from any location--not just a certain cache--simply by entering the desired starting coordinates. Patty Quote Link to comment
HarLin
Worked perfectly. Thank you. It's exactly what I wanted - even better. I hadn't thought of re-centering after finding the cache to go to the next one. Thanks again HarLin PS - now all I have to do is figure out the WiFi on this IPAQ.<g> ...
