Colorado speed difference for map on card vs in system?

The advice seems to be to get a Colorado 300 and then load the topo data onto a card this way you can have the topo on your computer as well.

Is there any noticeable difference in speed if you compare a Colorado 300 with topo on a card vs. a 400 which has it built into the system? Kind of like you might see when comparing a hard drive vs. something on a CD-R? I would guess that if the GPS has to access the card it might take longer?????

has anyone done a comparison?
