Change username

When I signed on I just used my name, but as it looks like we are likely to continue I would prefer we had a more imaginitive moniker. Is there any way to change it? I guess if I was going to do it, it might have been better done before subscribing to Groundspeak.

As far as I am aware, you can’t change your name. As you haven’t got hundreds of caches yet, it may be an idea to come up with another user name and relog your finds having posted a note to the owners to say you’re changing your id. I’ve heard of others doing similarly.

Thanks Jerry, I guessed as much. If I created a new account, would I be able to relog with the original dates, as they would precede the joining date?

It'll be fine: I just checked by putting a note on a cache of mine dated before it was even put out and three years before I started caching and it worked ok.

I did think about creating a new name for our team when our little one arrived but (as far as I know) there is no way to re-log your TBs and coins without having the TB/coin number...

 

We may create a separate account for the HitchHiker once she is old enough to go looking herself (maybe once she is crawling and we can send her under a thorn bush...).

Awwww you wouldn't do that to little Abigail, surely??? Better still, attach a TB tag to her and send her out as a wandering TB

I think you're right, but I've only moved a half dozen TBs. The ones I currently hold I've "grabbed" from myself, the others I edited the original logs to explain what has happened, and I'm not much bothered about not having a record of them on our new acount.
