Problems loading .gpx file into Google Earth. Help!

Hi. I used a Pocket Query to create a route and set of potential geocaches to visit while on a family roadtrip this summer. Pocket Query seemed to work fine. Got the email, opened the file with EasyGPS, and was able to see all the waypoints, route, etc. I then tried to drag the gpx file into Google Earth and nothing seems to happen. (I see "GPS device" under temporary places and click all the boxes.) Also created the route in GE, that plots fine but I can not see any of the waypoints plotted on the map. I have seen other posts talking about the "timeline" in the upper right hand corner of GE. I don't see to have that? Nothing else I read seems to help either. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

In GE, go to File > Open, instead of doing drag-and-drop. You will need to change the file type in the Open File dialog. GE should open the GPX file and zoom to it.

The other thing I noticed is that with the newer versions of GE there's a "TIME" scale up next to the compass. Make sure that the time scale shows ALL of the time range, and not just the earliest.

Thanks for the suggestions. I did try (again) using file and open. When I do that I get a window to pop-up that asks what to include (waypoints, routes, etc.) and I click OK. Seems to process something but then nothing shows up on the map. Doesn't zoom into anything. Also, on the point of a time slider, I do not have that capability showing up on my screen. I am running Google Earth Plus, version 4.0.2416.
