dna1990
Specific to the Garmin 76Cx, I would like to 'survey' various areas along a trail for later mapping in GE. I currently allow the tracking to begin normally, and then as I 'enter' an area, I hold Mark to create a waypoint. I don't mind the 001 sequential numbering and can just hit enter. I again make a mark as I 'leave' that area (almost always from a different spot). What I would REALLY like to do is change the symbol for entry vs exit. But cursoring up and around on the New Waypoint Screen is too tedious while still walking. Is there a no-eyes series of button clicks that could make alternating waypoints? I'd really like to be able to initiate it without ever removing the unit from my belt... It almost has me thinking about creating some custom 'push button' that is cabled to the AuxPort... +admo1972
Why not just use the generic waypoint mark for "entering", and whatever the next symbol down as the exit. So every enter is just "mark", every exit is "mark-scroll down one". Quote Link to comment
