I recently discovered a travel bug that I thought I had placed in a cache about 6 mos ago.

Today , I DEFINITLY placed it into another cache, and I am trying to log it in, but am not having any luck.

It keeps telling me the TB is in the cache that it never was in, but was logged in as though it was there, even though is not there, but is now in its new home. How do I log it in?

I posted a note on the cache that it is not in, and a note that it is in, as well as a log @ the TB page. Is that enough?

Are you seeing a lot of activity on the TB page in the last 6 months??

I'd almost bet that there are two copies of this TB floating around. I've hit this more than once. One TB I grabbed had a hand written tag, the logs were quite confusing, so I held on to it for two weeks. Things were still being logged so I emailed the owner and asked about the hand written tag. He thought that the original was stolen/missing so he created a duplicate with a hand written tag.

Another that I came across the tag actually said duplicate (I assume when you buy a tag from gc or whoever you get two copies of the tag??). Almost the same thing happened with this bug.

When you thought you dropped it in a cache did you log it that way?

If you logged it into a cache that you didn't actualy put it in then you will have to log it out of that cache before you can log it into another.

I did log it as left(its no secret) @ swancreek bridge , but it never made it into that cache.(41*59.648 X 083*17.157). when I tried to log it out, it said NO TB's were in the cache, but if you look at the TB log, that is its last known location, and now it says "whereabouts unknown" TB# isTB8799. It now resides in the Un"gaurded"cache(41*44.885X 083*26.559), but I cant get It to let me log it as such. Thanx 4 your help

Since the bug had been considered 'lost' it was placed into an unknown location so people wouldn't come to the cache looking for it.

Just post a note on the bug and select log type: "Grab it from somewhere else". This will put the bug into your inventory. Then post a note on the new cache to do the bug drop.
