Etrex Legend...?.?.?.

I have a etrex legend with the wire that goes to the computer. I believe it is the com port. However I just bought a laptop, unfortunately it doesnt have the connection needed for that. Is there anyway i can get a data transfer wire for the gps using the usb port?

You will need to purchase a USB>Serial adapter cable. Some have compatibility issues, and will not work though. If you want, I have a Belkin brand "pda" adapter that I can test with a eTrex Legend on Monday. I am out in Cape Cod at the moment, without direct access to that adapter, but will be willing to give a confirmation when I get back.

 

The adapter was 29 bucks at Circuit City, and I know that Staples also sells the same model for the same price.
