+maconart
In Alabama, the Coosa River was developed and several dams built in the early 60's. These impoundments covered major roads where many marks were placed in the early 40's. The great thing is the marks are not listed on Fishing maps and areas like culverts on roadbeds and old bridge abutments are a real treasure to know about. This weekend I fished several of these marks that are now 18 feet snd 45 feet underwater. the question to this group is do I log these as Not Found or Destroyed? I have not filed a mark recovery for these. I respect this groups opinions on this. Edited August 28, 2006 by maconart Quote Link to comment
StripeMark
The survey markers are now located underwater? I'd say they would be "NOT FOUND". Most likely they are still there and will probably never be used again, but "inaccessible does not equal destroyed". You just need to do some scuba-diving. ....just my thoughts Quote Link to comment
mloser
I agree with StripeMark. If I logged them I would add that the construction of "such and such" Dam flooded the road in the 1960s. Quote Link to comment
+YeOleImposter
Never thought about the underwater benchmarks located at culverts, etc, being ideal fishing locations! Thanks for the tip. Quote Link to comment
