+Roamingbull
Found a benchmark JHF13 There is a JHF12 and 14 but not the one I found while out and about. How do you log a benchmark not in the data base? Quote Link to comment
+seventhings
Roamingbull - There are gozillions of benchmarks that are not in the Geocaching database. A few of these (mostly newer ones) may be in the National Geodetic Survey's database, but didn't make the 2000 +/- cut for the Geocaching database. The vast majority of the remaining marks are those set by USGS and other agencies for their purposes, but were never documented to the standards of the NGS and were not, therefore, entered into either the NGS or Geocaching databases. The bad news is: if a mark is not in the Geocaching database, there is no method to get credit for a "Found it". The good news is: the Waymarking "Things > Benchmarks > Recovered US Benchmarks" site provides an excellent vehicle for documenting the existence, condition and location of benchmarks that are not in the Geocaching.com database. Go to: Recovered US Benchmarks and have a look around. Good hunting, Will Quote Link to comment

Found one Saturday while looking to place a new cache. I was quite surprised at the location where I found it. Unfortunately it not in the GC.com list. Quote Link to comment
