Attila Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 Is there a formula to find the distance between 2 UTM cooridinates? Quote
+EScout Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 Your GPSr will calculate this. Change the coord system to UTM. Enter both Coords as waypoints. Go to the route create page and enter both waypoints. Highlight the second waypoint and it will give you the bearing and distance from first to second waypoints. This can be done quickly and the advantage is that you do not need a computer, PDA, calculator and the waypoints can be anywhere. Quote
+Markwell Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 With UTM, if they're in the same Easting and Northing, you can use the Pythagorean Theorum (sp?) [rul=http://members.aol.com/marklent60544/myhomepage/Geocaching/markwellgcfaq.htm#Calc]See my FAQ[/url] (where I can actually spell). Quote
