  1. Hello, two days ago I noticed that I've got not all e-mail notifications for my owned caches. It does not affect a specific cache. The first time I noticed it was when I activated 3 caches but only received one email. Today I got 4 fundlogs on 4 caches, but only one email for one cache. Do others have the problem?
  2. Edit: Have since sorted it. On return to account an email 'remove' function was visible. The old email address in my account no longer exists. I have added my new address and this has been validated and now listed as 'primary'. But the old email address is still listed as 'validated' in my account and I cannot find a way to delete it. Is there a way to do this? Thanks.
  3. I am in Europe and I am finding that some Virtual caches, and today an Earthcache, required me to email an answer to which I then received permission to log. I object to needing to use a private email address to do this. I could not use the email address for geocaching. I don't think this should be allowed, as it's a breach of privacy. Fortunately in my case, I have an old, email address with another name, but not everyone would. Why does this get past the reviewers? I am Goldenwattle here. Why should someone be expected to use a private email address with their real name?
  4. I am no longer getting an email notification when I have been sent a message. I have my preferences set to 30 mins after messaging inactivity ( as I used to get bombarded with emails every time I have an ongoing conversation in messaging) but seems now I'm not getting any notifications at all Anyone else having this issue Is this a known glitch. Do I have to amend preferences?

  6. About 6:00 pm on 7/22/23 I got an email from myself about using Amazon prime. My email account was hacked. The weird thing is that the people who seemed to be getting the hacked emails were those I have sent emails to through Geocaching.com. Has anyone else ever had this problem? I changed my password to my email in an effort to stop the emails but do not know of any further actions I should take.
  7. I wonder whether Virtuals with the instructions to send answers to answer1.answer2.answer3@gmail.com are allowed, with the caveat that logs will be deleted if this method is not chosen? I know I don't need to do those, but I wonder what GS thinks. Thinking along the lines of how CO would handle and store private information (my email). Looking at this from European and GDPR perspective.
  8. When someone logs one of my caches, I get a notification email, e.g. "[LOG] Owner: Pirat found Czedik-Marterl (Traditional Cache)". But when someone finds one of my adventure lab caches I get no notification email. :-(
  9. I just sent an email to a cache owner (not message center) and the email displayed afterwards gave me a ' with every '. I'm not sure the recipient received the same and I didn't send a copy to myself. My keyboard is set to English, Dutch International, and I never had this problem previously.
  10. Dear Geocaching-Team, when users get a message from other users on the Geocaching platfrom we are receiving an Email from Geocaching.com notifying about the message. There is an option to reply to the message directly by answering to the notification email. I used this option a lot, because my De-Googled Android device is not supported by the official Geocaching app. However, it recently stopped working and I get an automated reply Mail stating that my Emailaddress is not part of this conversation. Digging deeper I found out that Email providers begun to use a feature called "Bounce Adress Tag Validation" which adds a "prvs" Tag to the email address in the return path of the Emails sent. Hence the geocaching server does not recognize the Email Address correctly. I request Geocaching.com to filter out any tags in front of the Email address on the receiving side on these conversations.   12. I'm assuming this is just an app and my phone issue but it's frustrating and I don't know how to fix it. When I get a notification for a TB log: I click on the link for the TB, and I'm taken to the app map. I click on the link for the user and I am taken to the app map. I click on the log link and I'm taken to the app map. Sometimes I want to message that person about the log, and I would think clicking on their username link would bring me to the message center or their profile but it doesn't. When I get a notification for a dnf all three of those links work properly. Edit: it seems that something recently changed because not too long ago when I got a dnf email and clicked on the username it also brought me to the map. So this is an improvement that it currently works.
  13. Hi guys, what do you think to reduce the number of email received? to reduce the footprint? Instead receiving an email for each finds the owner could received one email by week which resume by cache or by finders for the last week? let me know your pro&con! happy caching rca85

  15. I currently have notifications set to send Newly Published alerts to my home email. However, by the time I check it its often too late to try to go for FTF's. I tried creating a SMS email address from my cell phone number that would change my phone number into an email address (For Verizon users its your cell phone number + @vtext.com). I added it into my notification settings and I got a text message "email" from geocaching right away. The problem is that it wants to verify this email address? I don't know how to verify it since its not a real email address. When I try to click on the link in my text, it just sends me to the geocaching website. I thought it might work without it being verified but it doesn't seem to. Any suggestions?? Thanks for any help and ideas!!
  16. If I buy a $30 gift card to be emailed to me, can I print that gift card off and give it to someone to use to sign up for a premium membership? I can see there is a way to gift a premium membership direct to someone's account, but I don't know their email or if they have an account. It's for my kid's kindergarten teacher So I'd just like to give them the code to use themselves. I don't want to wait for the physical membership gift card, nor pay for the $14 for shipping to Canada for it. If I get the e gift card that should work right? Thank you
  17. I thought my output problem was related to PQ's. I submitted five and all indicators showed they ran successfully but the account never received the output. In fact, all logging activities on my caches and any I had watches on are no longer appearing in my email account. For example, I tried to report a Needs Maintenance and nothing is sent to my gmail account. I can send simple messages from another email account and they appear just fine. This is mystifying and I have run out of solutions.

  19. I currently have notifications set to send Newly Published alerts via email to my cellphone's SMS email address. (For Cricket users its your cell phone number + @mms.cricketwireless.net). The problem is that the new cache notifications rarely arrive in a timely manner -- usually 30-60 minutes later than ones sent to an actual (Gmail) address. It appears that the body of the outgoing message is altered for the SMS recipient as compared to the email recipient. Pretty sure this has to be happening before it leaves Groundspeak, since it isn't just the same information, but truncated. It has much less information, just a link to the cache page. Annoying, but tolerable. As a test I sent myself an email from my computer to my cellphone's SMS address. It arrived almost instantly. It seems likely the delay is with Groundspeak, not my wireless provider, and reformatting the message is probably part of it. Is Groundspeak the bottleneck? What can be done to get these "emails" to SMS out faster? 30-60 minutes of delay is way too much in a FTF situation. Thanks...

When I log in to geocaching via the website (https://www.geocaching.com/account/signin?returnUrl=%2fplay) and enter email + password, I get this validation email page (see screenshot) for a brief moment before I'm back on the main page, still not logged in. Sometimes, but not always, I also get a blue banner saying something like "Thank you, your account is now activated" back on the main page. I've tested it on Linux with Firefox and Chrome, and on Windows with Opera and Edge, all leading to the same result. However, when I enter my username instead of the email, everything works fine. This being said, the issue is not a disaster but I'd still like to see it fixed since it explicitly says "email or username" on the login page -- or just remove "email or" Thanks in advance for looking into this!   22. I was under the impression that I would be sent emails of new caches that are placed in my area. I haven't received any and would like to know when there is a new cache.
  23. Get the email as an officer saying a Waymark has been submitted, email has a link to the Waymark. Open Waymark via the link and get "This waymark has not been published by the category group yet." and cant publish/decline the Waymark.
  24. If somebody writes a message including an attached image, the image isn't sent via email anymore. This has worked in the past. It's a disturbing issue, cause sometimes infos to me are sent via images. And by reading the notification email right now I don't even know that an image with important info has been attached.

I know I have experienced this in the past and then thought it was fixed at some point but it has started again: I received a couple of email notifications of messages, I reply to them, but then later I notice in the message centre that my replies are not there. So the message centre is making me look like I am ignoring people when I've actually replied to them.
