  1. There have been some recent updates to FizzyCalc. Download the latest version (Windows) and check it out. Is there anyone out there yet that still doesn't know that this great geographic calculator was written, and is being maintained, by a fellow Geocacher? But the recent updates have only been noted in a How Do I thread about coordinate calculations in general, not one about FizzyCalc specifically. So if you missed that discussion, it's time to check out the new features. 1. When the Projection tab has been selected, there is now a selectable Output Format box. Previously the Output was restricted to the Geocaching DD MM.mmm Format. Now both the DD.dddddddd and the DD MM SS.ss Formats are also available. 2. When either the Distance or Projection tabs have been selected, clicking to open the Distance Units drop down box reveals that the size of the box has been expanded to accommodate all seven available unit selections. An extra click is no longer necessary to bring the seventh unit of measure into view. 3. Much less noticeable. A rounding quirk in the Projection function has been addressed. There were edge cases where instead of showing 00 Minutes and bumping up The Degrees by one, it would show the lower degree amount followed by 60 Minutes. There is a good chance most of us never encountered it in normal usage, but it works correctly all the time now. This would be the best Geocaching calculator available at $20. At the bargain price of Free, all I can say is thanks Fizzy!
  2. ctrl+V to paste. In Windows, ctrl+P is a print request.
  3. On the website, it appears that the sort list gets cut off, and there's no way to scroll down. I can tab down, but the list doesn't scroll; it tabs right off the screen. Firefox, Windows 10.
  4. Windows 11 screen resolution - 1920 x 1080 Chrome version 124.0.6367.79 - display size 1365 x 901 Hope that helps!
  5. From this morning (13th March 2024) the text box within individual list items on bookmark lists no longer formats correctly in that each 'new line' is now not being recognized by the browser. This results in one (incredibly) long line of text a bit like some sort of 'stream-of- consciousness' . Is contrast to the text with line breaks, this change is making each text box virtually unreadable. It doesn't seem to be a fault with a specific browser as it's happening with Windows on both Chrome and Firefox, and on Apple with Safari. For example, this is what it should look like: "MULTI - Fine Pair # 1800 ~ Stanmer GET 2 FROM HERE N 50° 52.234 W 000° 06.083 P&D car park looking at the postbox collect the following information. Last Collection Time: - Monday to Friday: - A:00am Saturday: - B:00am The Last Collection in the Area: - C:00pm from DE North Road . N 50 5(C-D).(D+E)(B-C)(B-E) W 0 0(C-E).(E*E)(D/E)(D+E) . MICRO / magnetic." From this morning, ON SCREEN ONLY, it now looks like this: "MULTI - Fine Pair # 1800 ~ Stanmer GET 2 FROM HERE N 50° 52.234 W 000° 06.083 P&D car park looking at the postbox collect the following information. Last Collection Time: - Monday to Friday: - A:00am Saturday: - B:00am The Last Collection in the Area: - C:00pm from DE North Road . N 50 5(C-D).(D+E)(B-C)(B-E) W 0 0(C-E).(E*E)(D/E)(D+E) . MICRO / magnetic." As well as documenting my progress for challenge caches I also use list item text boxes for parking details, multi info and formulae etc on caching day trips. I might have 50 caches and 50 different locations to visit on one trip, so I would normally print something like this to guide me during the day. When I go to print the list with all that crucial info, the text box disappears completely (as if it's a mobile device display) and all I'm left with is the bookmark list showing each title of the list entries themselves. It means I can no longer use bookmark lists to help me plan my caching trips
  6. Recently, as in the last week or so, logs aren't loading when I view a cache page. It used to load the newest half a dozen logs with a scroll feature to load older ones. Now the only way I can see logs is by clicking on "View All Logs", something I'm not always willing to do (like if there are thousands of logs). This problem is occurring on a laptop running Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2 and Chrome version 123.0.6312.123 (just updated Chrome to this version to see if that fixed the problem, but it didn't). Cache pages viewed on an iPad with Safari browser are still displaying normal log behavior. I also tried Edge on the laptop and cache pages were loading logs correctly, so I suspect the problem is with Chrome. I really need/want to use Chrome as I have a crap-ton of bookmarks and I can't get Edge to behave the way I want. Any help (besides changing browsers) appreciated. Mrs. Car54
  7. Same for me (Firefox 125.0.1 on Windows 10 with no add-ons and all cookies enabled). The Browse map was working fine yesterday but this morning all the caches have gone away.
  8. I have this same problem in Firefox, Edge and Chrome. Opening the map, I get no geocaches showing. I am on Windows 10, Version 10.0.19045 Firefox: 125.0.1 Edge: 124.0.2478.51 Chrome: 124.0.6367.61 I have found that if I leave the browser page open for many minutes, at zoom level 11 or less, caches start to populate on the map. They are unclickable and basically indistinguishable at that map size. If the map is left open at higher zoom levels, it seems the caches themselves are not visible but if you hover over a location and there is a cache there, it will eventually appear as it's usual pop up, after 15-20 seconds.
  9. When I mouse over the statistics for Finds Per Month (not Cumulative Finds Per Month) if I hover my mouse at over the location of both the little speech bubble that pops up and the bar that gives that speech bubble the bubble rapidly flickers on and off. This is more rapid on Firefox than on Chrome, but it occurs in both browsers. I am running Windows 11 on an Intel Core i3 x64 architecture. I can't attach video, but here's a Google Drive link for the video of this happening on firefox.https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GmsOLfDYVOhprnPGPTUKI4U6PiFqlohE/view?usp=sharing, owned by my google Geocaching alt account. I am not clicking/autoclicker on it at all. EDIT: Google drive is being weird, so I converted it to a gif.
  11. Yes, I'm seeing the same thing (Firefox 124.0.2 on Windows 10, if that makes any difference). I checked the filter settings and it's set for all caches, not just the enabled ones.

Why is it when I click on my friends list of caches they found on a particular day (example friend X found 9 caches on 4/17/24) it brings up a list of every cache friend X has ever found since he started caching. The filter is automatically set to (Old to New) and I have to shrink my screen down to 50% to be able to change it to (New to Old). This started happening about 2 weeks ago and only with multiple finds. Single finds on a given day bring up the single cache. It happens using Chrome or Edge browsers on a Windows 11 Computer. 13. Greetings-- Just upgraded to a GPSmap 67i from a 64st, added a 32gb microSD card, and the first thing I noticed it that when plugged into the Mac, it no longer shows up as a drive (or 2) on my desktop, thus my iCaching software doesn't see it directly for purposes of export. Garmin support told me I needed the Android File Transfer utility see the units directory and transfer files to the GPX directory. That worked, booted up and voila!. Tried to find them again the next day and nothing. Support had me verify the PQs were enabled and to use both AFT to load files to the directory, import them into BaseCamp then Xfer to the 67i. After reinstating BC (not my favorite piece of software), I was able to get the PQ loaded onto the unit. Not exactly a clean way to do so after the iCaching/GPSmap 64st combo I've used for years. Does anyone know a more efficient way to do so? I can run Windows and try GSAK, but would rather not.
  14. I'm getting the same error. It was once much less complicated! The sequence I'm seeing is: In any List, attempt to Send To Garmin, and a window pops up that says: "Allow Garmin Express Your browser will ask you to open the application. Make sure to choose the option to launch Garmin Express." This is followed by no browser asking anything. Click OK, and the box closes, and is replaced by "An Error Occurred". At this point, Garmin Express has opened perfectly fine behind all other windows. And it has a box that says "Content Ready to Download". Click continue, and the requested GPX List file is placed onto the Garmin. Do the same with another List, go through that entire process again. It is working, except that there's more manual interactivity required. I don't like the additional weirdness. In your case, maybe you need to update and open Garmin Express and then try it. Or post the exact steps and errors, and your OS and Garmin Express version. Don't want to tell you how to do things, but the above is why I use Pocket Queries instead, including Lists as Pocket Queries. And if I'm "downloading" a List or PQ or a single cache, I'm "Downloading" it as a GPX, I NEVER use "Send To Garmin", because of this exact thing. It's chock full of unpleasant surprises. I'm not excited about fiddling with the bug of the day. I need to load a GPX and go. Just before I saw your post, I saved a couple of GPX files from the web site to my Oregon 750 without issue. I don't see the Garmin Express problems, because I deliberately bypass them.
  15. Using chrome on Windows 10, I can't change my profile pic because this error keeps popping up
  17. One of my caches GCA3Q55, an image-based puzzle based on RGB values that was published over a year ago and has been fine until now, has suddenly become problematic for some players with the image not showing on their devices. It's fine on my Windows PC and Android phone running the official app, but it apparently doesn't show on iOS phones with either the official app or Cachly. On the cache page I used the following URL to display the image: https://www.dropbox.com/s/fuh608u83qisvxz/GCA3Q55.png?dl=1 I can't use the geocaching site to host the image because all uploaded images now get quietly converted to progressive jpeg which destroys the exact RGB values. Any thoughts on this?
  18. Where do I download maps for Garmin? Anyone have the link?
  19. Example on Windows 10 - Firefox 124.0.2 (64 bits) Text editor vs result, without line breaks.
  21. I use a smartphone when hiding caches, but the phone is connected to the Garmin GLO receiver. It could be better to ask the estimated percentage of players who use only a smartphone GPS receiver. That number is constantly rising.
  22. Okay... here we go! PS: Logging on STAGING was throwing an error. This is why is I reproduced the issue on LIVE with an archived cache of an inactive owner STEP 1 - There are no drafts STEP 2 - Upload drafts Let's assume that I have a brand new (Garmin) GPSr and I have found one single cache. The geocache_visits.txt file looks like this: GC3GKH8,2024-04-03T11:43Z,Found it,"Draft 1" STEP 3 - Log the cache -> Result: Cache has a smiley on all maps/lists and the draft entry is gone -> No problems so far 👍 STEP 4 - One day later - we found another cache Now, the geocache_visits.txt file looks like this: GC3GKH8,2024-04-03T11:43Z,Found it,"Draft 1" GC3GFWJ,2024-04-04T10:24Z,Found it,"Draft 2" -> Yes, the (Garmin) TXT file contains *all* found caches (up to 1000) PROBLEM 1: After uploading the TXT file, the Drafts section unfortunately contains both (all) caches. This is a real pain because the list is getting longer and longer every day. Until June 2023, the upload process ignored already uploaded drafts. STEP 5 - Deleting the duplicates All I can do now is to delete the duplicate entries one by one and then log the remaining (new) ones. This leads to PROBLEM 2: After deleting the duplicate draft, the smiley is replaced by an exclamation mark (forever): Hope this helps...

    Printing lists

Right. It's an Windows app. GSAK, to be precise.
  24. I checked just now, and the first time the cache page I tested was opened, it was fine. On the first refresh, I saw the issue of no logs, as described above. Subsequent refreshes were OK. Earwigo

Now that Urwigo is getting some exposure here, I'd like to remind people that you have even more of a choice for building cartridges. Earwigo is a 100% Web-based builder that works on any Web browser (well, IE6+ and Firefox 3+ anyway), and requires no software download. Some features: - Earwigo is available in multiple languages (en/fr/de/cz/pt/dk/sv); translation is done by the community and new translators are always welcome. - Cartridges made with Earwigo can be multilingual (you can make two or more language versions of a cartridge while only writing the code once), with correct accented characters - on non-Garmin devices, you can even build a cartridge which runs in Russian or Japanese. - Cartridges can be made "Play-anywhere" with a single click. - You can import your existing cartridge files from the Groundspeak builder, and also re-export back to the Groundspeak builder if you decide to go back (or to move to Urwigo). - Zones are built interactively with Google Maps, or by pasting coordinates which you might have lying around, say in a GPX file. Support is off-site via a Google group (aka mailing list/"lite" forum). We have a Wiki, and some nice tutorial documentation is getting written. It's not as clever as Urwigo (no drag-and-drop) but you can work on a cartridge when goofing off at work as well as at home. For the moment, Earwigo requires manual signup, for which please send me an e-mail (*not* a "Message Center" message) via my Geocaching.com profile; click on my name at the left of this post. (Don't send forum PMs, please.) At some point I hope to be able to move to open sign-up using your Geocaching.com account, but that depends on some other things which are not yet settled. Officially, Earwigo is in alpha testing, but enough people are using it every day to make me confident that it is a fairly reliable way to build cartridges. PS: Can this maybe get pinned too?
